Get answers to some of the most frequently asked questions.
1. How do I purchase a gift card?
If you are having troubles buying a card online please contact me by calling or texting 780-224-3699, or emailing hello@abstractunderground.com to purchase the gift card.
The amount you purchase will be a credit towards anything I sell. They start at $50 and go up to any amount. Gift certificates do not expire. Purchases are made through e-transfer sent to: payments@abstractunderground.com. Add $5 for shipping within Canada. Add $20 for outside Canada. To avoid shipping fees, pick up at the studio instead. I’m located at 5809 39 Ave Close, Camrose, AB T4V 4A5.
2. How do I make a purchase?
On the website, go to shop and click "add to cart" & then click the checkout to proceed to purchase. You must pay by debit or credit card for online purchases.
Email bank transfers are also accepted. Please text 780-224-3699 or email steph@abstractunderground.com with the title of the piece you wish to purchase for further directions.
Credit card - call/text 780-224-3699 or email hello@abstractunderground.com with the title of the piece you wish to purchase and I can send an invoice to your inbox payable with the credit card provided.
Shipping times will vary depending on what city it will be shipped to. Once your purchase has been made, you will receive an email with details on shipping times and the tracking number.
If you live within Camrose, Canada city limits, and would like to arrange for pick up/delivery to your home, select the painting you wish to purchase, click "add to cart", skip the shipping, and complete the check out process for pickup. 3. What forms of payment are accepted?
We accept credit card and e-transfer payments for online purchases and cash and some debit for in-studio sales.
4. How do i arrange shipping/pick up?
Read the policy - If you live in the Camrose, Canada city limits, I will personally deliver your painting(s) at no charge for orders over $500 CAN. You may also arrange to pick up your paintings directly from my the studio located at 5809 39 Ave Close, Camrose, AB T4V 4A5
If you are outside the Camrose area, shipping costs vary with size of the painting & your postal code. For a quick shipping quote, send an email to: hello@abstractunderground.com with the title/size of the piece you would like to purchase with the delivery location. Art by Steph can be shipped worldwide. If you live outside of Canada, email hello@abstractunderground.com or call 780-224-3699 with your city & country for a shipping quote.
5. Can I get a home consultation?
Yes of course! In-home and virtual consultations are free of charge, as long as they are within an hour of Edmonton. If you would like to see a number of pieces in your home before you commit to a certain painting, have a look at your favourite pieces available in my current collection and I will bring what you would like to see in your space. Or, perhaps you are looking to have a painting commissioned. I will discuss and plan your desired style, size, price, and take measurements right there on the spot. In-person home consultations are free within Camrose, Edmonton, Sherwood Park, Spruce Grove, Stony Plain, and towns near these in Alberta Canada only. For in-person or virtual consulting, please contact me.
6. Do you offer layaway?
If you have fallen in love with one of my paintings, but need to spread out payments, we can work out a customized layaway plan for you. A deposit is required & we set up instalments through monthly e-transfers or through monthly invoices payable online with your credit card. Once your first instalment is sent, the painting you've had your eye on is set aside for you. I’ll store the painting in my studio until full payment is made. Please contact me to discuss layaway options.
7. How do I rent Abstract Underground Art?
There are 2 options for art rentals:
Option A:
Rent a minimum of 1 painting for a minimum of 6 months @ 5% of the retail value of each painting per month plus a one-time hanging fee of $100 per painting. Rent it as long as you would like (minimum is 6 months).
Option B:
Rent any number of paintings on a month-to-month basis at 10% of the retail value of each painting per month, plus the one-time-hanging fee of $100 per painting. Rent it as long as you would like (minimum is 1 month).
8. How do I commission Abstract Underground to make me Art?
If you are looking for a special piece, a certain size, colour or theme, then a commission might be the way to go. We’ll take a look at my portfolio together and base your painting off of one I have previously made or one in my current collection but in the size and colours you are looking for.
I can also work from photographs or drafts to create something truly yours. I can use the photo as inspiration for your custom abstract painting.
Please keep in mind that I do paint in my own unique style so your request must work well in my particular style. Once size, colour & theme are determined, a 50% non-refundable deposit is required to start & the remaining balance is due upon completion. If you’re not a big fan of the end result, I’ll gladly convert that deposit into a gift certificate for any other painting currently available.

9. Can I hire Stephanie Lane to live paint at my event?
Yes! Essentially you are buying the painting that I create in one painting session at your preferred location. Yes, I travel for out-of-town events. Yes, I am based in Camrose Alberta, Canada. Please email hello@abstractunderground.com or call 780-224-3699 to talk about your big idea.

Your home – you may invite me to come to your home/office with your favourite paintings to see how they look in person on your walls.
